by DarthLoki77 Who Knew They'd Like it
I bought this on a whim. Which I'm learning with my birds is the way to go. If I research and buy the item, they want nothing to do with it. But if I'm browsing around the store and just grab it, they go wild over the object. This is one of those items. I was worried that they wouldn't like it because of the rubber texture. I'm pretty sure that's the reason why they love it. It's up there with their swings and hall of mirror toys. It's something I'd recommend to try and something I'll definitely buy again.

My lovebirds love the texture of this rubbery toy. They don't care for the calcium, but the sea shells underneath are a lot of fun for them to grind their beaks and gnaw on. Due to the rubbery texture, it stains easily and doesn't wash off. It's porous, so you have to be cautious of what it gets near/in and what you wash it in, especially if your pets are like mine and like to beak at it a lot.

I have both the braided one and the one with the hoops. My bird loves his one with the hoops, but has about worn it out so I got him the braided one this time to switch it up. The hoop one has lasted several years so I am very impressed.

It only took about an hour being in the cage before my cockatiel started playing with this toy. It is definitely his most loved toy now. We noticed he liked 'chewy' things as he would constantly play with our hairties or ties on a jacket, so this seemed like a fitting toy. The price was affordable and it seemed more durable than other options. The rubber in this toy is latex-based, so be aware if you have an allergy yourself to latex when touching or washing this toy.
