I have the 250 watt in a 70 gallon tank, and though it still works, I am considering buying a new heater. I have only had it for about 5 months and I have two major issues with it.
1. Internal condensation, though it has double layered glass, it does not keep the water out well. For the age of the heater, the amount of condensation is ridiculous.
2. It runs very warm. I have it set to 82, but I find it getting up close to 90. Though my fish are african and south american and this won't kill them, it really is much warmer than I am comfortable with.
For those reasons I would not recommend it, and am looking to buy a new heater soon.

I had purchased 2 of these for separate tanks, within 3 months the larger of the two stopped working completely. The smaller one stopped being efficient as it only heated my aquarium to 74 degrees, set at 80 and condensation on the inside of the heater. Marineland has replaced both of these heaters. The larger of the two has been working since and the smaller replacement heater is not working as well, still a few degrees off and stays on much longer. I was asked by Marineland to send in my last defective heater at my cost and another employee told me I should only get one replacement per heater every 3 years, which is the total life of the so called heater. I find these heaters defective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kalahara Marineland 200 watt heater
I purchased the Marineland visi-therm sub. 200 watt heater for my 55g and have had no issue with it. It maintains a even temp and I waited to do a review on this product til after I had it for 6 months. I read product reviews on this item from several sites before making my purchase on it, on a great sale price at Petsmart. I put this heater in the same category as Eheim heater. Unless there was some damage in shipment or damage in a store to a product I have never had a issue with Marineland products and would continue to stay loyal to this brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Aquascaper2015 Good but not great
Cons: The top red dial and red sliding scale are eye sores. In comparison, the Aqueon uses a blue top dial that blends with the background of my tank. The Marineland 100 watt is more robust compared to the sleeker Aqueon 100 watt water heater and the Aqueon is rated up to a 40 gallon tank. The Marineland 100 watt is only rated up to a 29 gallon but uses the same number of watts and volts.
Pros: build quality, LED red light to signal it's on, and accurate output. It feels like a quality piece of equipment and Marineland is a trusted brand.
