I purchased this tank to be used as a quarantine tank for new fish I buy, or those that get sick. Almost everything you need to get started. Plus, it's not very big, so it can be moved, cleaned, emptied, etc., quite easily.

I will preface this buy saying I have normally been very happy with Fluvial products. This product feels more like someone else made it and Fluvial stuck their name on it. The pump is underpowered and and the filtration is inadequate for the tank size. The lighting is as well underpowered. After 4 month the light went out. Cost for replacement is $43.00 + shipping, so basically half the cost of the tank. I have not decided whether to buy the replacement of scrap the tank. One thing for sure I would never buy this product again.

by Andrew24 Great Tank but the Flow Rate is High
I really like the look of this tank. Mine is the black one and there is nothing that I would change aesthetically about the tank. I really thought I would dislike the plastic lid, but once I had it all set up, it grew on me quick.
The light is also great, and works well with a timer. I use the nighttime lights sometimes, and they look awesome. My plants are all low to medium light plants(anubias nana, green crypts, amazon sword, java moss, java fern and a sickly Water Wisteria) and are all doing great in the two weeks it has been set up (other than the Water Wisteria which already was doing poorly).
The filtration media seems almost overboard, which I like, and the filter compartment is large enough to house my heater as well (a Tetra HT10), keeping it out of site. It seems to stay heated just fine with it in there. The only issue with the filter is that the adjustment on the pump seems to do nothing, and because it comes out of such a small nozzle, the flow is too strong for a betta. I ended up cutting small holes out of the rubber hose that hooks to the filter to slow it down some, but I wish there was some way to diffuse the water flow, instead of just slowing it.
The other thing that I think is a bit of an issue is just the price. I got this as a gift, and they got it for less than 50 with some great sales. If you are looking to save some money, check out the Top Fin 5 Gallon Glass Aquarium (Petsmart Item: 36-27504). The Spec has that one beat in filtration(except the flow rate), and lighting, since the Spec can be used with a timer, but for the price, it's worth a look. I have both and like both, but this one is my favorite.

I absolutely love this tank. Purchased it for my daughter for Christmas. Later picked out 4 tropical tetras for the tank. Overall the tank is perfect. It fits perfectly on her desk and it's extremely quiet. Just be sure to keep an eye on how the fish respond to the strength of the flow pump. On day two, the most active fish was hiding in the decor castle and staying at the bottom of the tank to avoid the current. The other fish started becoming less active as well. Even after adjusting the pump, it still seemed a little strong for the fish. I had to turn the filter off and do some research. Modifications were made and the fish are now doing fine.
