I initially would have given this toy a poor review, because the cats showed little interest in it, and then when they did grab it, the jellyfish separated from the string almost immediately. However, they like it better in two pieces. They will chase the plain piece of yarn dangling from the stick with great enthusiasm, and they like the freed jellyfish because they can hold and kick it.

I purchased this as a gift for my cat`s Birthday, she LOVED it for about maybe 10 minutes until I noticed something didn`t seem right, the stuffing had already begun to come out. It was fine when I bought it, there is no reason why something that is made for cats to play with can get destroyed that quickly. I will be returning it without a doubt in my mind.

by mrsblocko My cats' new favorite toy
This is both of our cat's favorite toy. Our cats are 2.5 and 3 years old . The older one goes for the body, probably because of the catnip, but the younger one is gaga over the springing string tentacles. She loves the toy so much that she will smack the other cat for trying to play with it!
I love how the string is attached to the stick. There is a hole drilled through the wooden dowel, so if the string should come loose, it can be reattached. Most of the stick toys I've seen have the string glued on in some fashion. After a few months of vigorous play, the glued on string toys come detached and I have not yet found a way to mend them. Hopefully the drilled dowel will do the trick.
Our younger cat likes to chew and eat stretchy things, so this is a heavily supervised toy for us.
For this reason, I love that the stick is short so that it can easily be stored in a drawer.

I really loved the jellyfish part of this toy but the string was really short and didn't have any bounce to it. My cat still likes it but it would be more enjoyable if the string was much longer.
