Rated 5 out of 5 by Shellybearink Great rope substitute for play
I used to buy ropes for my dog to play with, but he just ended up eating them so we stopped buying them completely. I decided to buy this for my 45lb dog and he LOVES it (he likes rubber toys, if your dog doesn't then it might not be a good fit). He brings it right to us and plays and unlike rope, it is easier to hold and hurts your hand WAY less. Also allows various locations for your dog to hold on to.
That being said, I wouldn't recommend leaving it out. It definitely doesn't feel durable enough to be chewed on in concentration. Pulling and chomping on it is different from a dog sitting and chewing on a toy. This would be destroyed by my dog if he figured that out but that isn't what this toy is meant for

Rated 2 out of 5 by LunLuns NOT a substitute for a Rope
My dog loves ropes. But she tears them up too fast. I bought this in hopes of being able to play tug with her and have the toy last. Sadly my dog didn't like it. She kept trying to bite the red part when playing. Either that or she would go for the middle black part.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DanN Not as tuff as I expect from Kong
My 40 lb. mixed breed loves to play tug so I bought her this toy. She didn't like it for tugging and I left it on the floor. When I came back into the room about 15 minutes later she had chewed off 1/2 of the black rubber that covers the handle. That part is very soft. I know I shouldn't have left it on the floor but I'm used to Kong toys being much sturdier. This was a disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rhodelvr Good for large dogs, not so much smaller ones
My Rat Terrier doesn't care for this toy at all, but my Rhodie/Boxer mix loves it. She doesn't like playing tug-o-war as much as she just loves chewing on it, haha. Not her first pick of toy to chew on, but it does entertain her for a while when she decides to play with it. We've had it for over a month and it is still in one piece.
