A few months ago, I bought the crackle squeak of this brand for my new puppy. He loved it and it seemed durable. Though the crackles started to break, they stayed inside and he didn't seem to break the seems. Still 7 months later it is still going. We have been searching for new versions of this toy because we wanted to stock up. Finally after months of searching, we found this, the ball, and the bone at Petsmart. I gave it to my pup and within 10 minutes, it broke into the seem. I really hope they did not change how its made because they used to be great! Disappointed but maybe I just got a bad one, who knows!

I have a Jack Russell terrier that loves to chew on his toys. Any stuffed or cloth toy is ripped to shreds, he pops tennis balls within minutes....you get the picture. This seemed great, protected squeaker, rubber he can't easily tear, but a little squishy so he can squeak and chew. He loved it, squeaked it for hours. And then he crushed the squeaker inside it. Now it makes a sort of heavy breathing sound, and he keeps bringing it to me so I can make it squeak. He doesn't understand 'broken'. But he hasn't chewed holes in the rubber yet, and he's really tried!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Julz0525 Great while it lasted...
Bought this for my newly adopted 8 month beagle/pointer mix and she loved it. Sad part is she managed to chew the end off of it, not even where a seam was and we had to take it. It lasted just under a month...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brucebruce Awesome crackling durable toy
This is a fantastic toy for my australian shepherd. He's used to chewing up antlers as if they were made out of cardboard but this toy has miraculously held up to all the chewing and the tugging! The toy sounds just like a plastic bottle and my dog has stopped rummaging through my recycling bin. I supervise bruce every time he plays with his toys but only those from Kong have withheld fetch, tug-of-war, and chewing.
It's a much welcomed addition!
