Our pointer isn't particularly big, nor especially powerful, but he is smart and persistent. So we now have one extra-large Kong Extreme that's about half gone, and two others that are still mostly spherical but well worn. These balls are certainly not indestructible, but they are sturdy with just-enough give in the rubber to make them enjoyable. We will continue to use them for playtime, then put them away. And we will likely keep replacing them, because they're the best I have found for this dog.
BTW, we have also tried the bone-shaped extreme and the extreme ball with the hole bored through the middle. The plain spheres (without the hole) have lasted longest, as the dog exploits the weaknesses inherent in the edges of those other toy shapes.

Love the fact there is a little pass through to shove in some tasty pliable treat! It keeps my Babygirl entertained by making her work for it. She is mentally satisfied by the challenge.

I have a 2 yr old Golden Retriever and an 8 month old Blue Heeler! Enough said! Anyone who knows Golden's can ONLY imagine how much cash we have invested in tennis balls!! And other balls! Golden's LOVE to see how many they can fit in their mouths at one time! Which concerns me very much so I am always looking for bigger diameter balls. Not to mention they destroy the fuzz & then proceed to "eat" the tennis balls if left alone with them for long! These are Awesome! He can still pick up another toy or two at the same time, but at least I know this large ball won't fit down his throat! And there is NO fuzz, thus no desire to destroy it!! But a word of caution, don't stand nearby with no shoes on when they drop them!! They are SO heavy & hurt when they land on bare feet!!
