by caramichele destroyed in 10 minutes
My two dogs love to play tug-o-war and I thought this would be perfect for them, and being Kong brand thought it would be sturdy. Its made out of seemingly sturdy fabric, and we have other toys in similar material that they've had for months without ripping open. They had it for all of 10 minutes before it was totally destroyed and unstuffed all over the floor. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and honestly wish I could give 0 stars. Don't bother buying this toy.

I bought this because it was kong. My 5 month lab/weim pup destroyed it in less than 10 min. I spent around $15 for it, wrote the company, and didn't even get a response. VERY disappointed

Two SMALL puppies pulled this apart within 2 HOURS. I have NEVER spent so much money on a toy and thought I would splurge on my girls. Started to pull apart at the center, then they started chewing and pulling it apart. Looked like red, white & blue explosion all over over my couch. They have and still play tug of war with one of those $5 long legged stuffed animals(we have the frog one) with the crinkle stuff inside and it's lasted MONTHS. No longer crinkles but is perfectly intact, except for one leg which I had to amputate, but it still has lasted for several months now. Save your money and STAY AWAY from this toy.

by FearTheLiving Huge Waste! Definitely do not buy!
For years I have been behind KONG and constantly tell people when they talk about how their dog can’t have toys, to try out KONG products. I usually don’t have many issues with the products I buy, but I also haven’t tried that many because of the simple fact they are a bit expensive. Well, I decided to really spoil my furbabies and spent a whole bunch of money at PetSmart, buying them three different KONG toys.
The one I was most excited about was this tug toy that has a handle on either end. Seeing as my two Border Collie mixes absolutely love to play tug-of-war, I thought this would be perfect for them. It says it’s durable and great for hard pullers and tough chewers, so I didn’t really care too much that it was a $20 toy and I rarely spend that much on toys because they destroy them; however, this being KONG, I figured it would last at least a little bit.
After just a few minutes of them playing tug-of-war, I heard the tearing sound I know all too well. When I took the toy away, I not only seen that it nearly tore IN HALF, but had numerous tears and punctures all over it. They had been playing for less than 5 minutes and this thing was completely destroyed, destroyed to an extent that usually takes them longer with cheap toys when just playing tug with it. They were not chewing on it, they were not trying to tear it up, they were doing what the product intended for them to do and this $20 toy didn’t even last 5 minutes.
I am very upset and frustrated because I have put a lot of faith and business behind this brand for a long time and when I finally go out and explore their other products, I am struck with dissatisfaction. The label was very misleading to say the product was in any way durable. Perhaps if I had a 5 pound dog it would have lasted, but my two 50 pound mutts apparently are not the directed user; though, the packaging doesn’t mention that. I feel like I should also mention my dogs are not THAT strong and while they are both heavy chewers and they destroy things fairly quick, they were not trying to destroy it and were just tugging on it.
KONG claims they have the toughest toys and this toy claimed it was durable, but instead it was just VERY overpriced with VERY misleading packaging.
