Our Australian Cattle dog is just a year old and loves chasing tennis balls so we purchased the large chunk it tennis balls for her. The first one lasted about an hour before it split. I got the second on out and it split within five minuets. Very poor quality for any dog who actually plays.

The launcher is just great and worthy of 5 stars. However, the large size balls (the only ones we've used) don't last a day, or even an hour or two. We have a German Shepherd puppy (6 months) that loves chasing these balls. I returned (and replaced) the one that came with the launcher and purchased several more. Not one has lasted through more than two play sessions. The balls split apart, suggesting that the glue that bonds the two halves together is simply not up to the job. And we've used the balls only for launching, not as a chew toy. Chuckit has got to fix the problem, or its reputation will suffer.

Hate the idea of buying tennis balls but love the color of these balls which are easy to find in the grass, woods or muddy fields when my dog doesn't bring them back.

Purchased the 2pack of large Chuckit balls for our one-year old German Shepherd "puppy" (70lbs) two weeks ago. He split one of them under the fabric within a day…but it stayed together until tonight - we were afraid he was going to eat it. The other ball is wearing better.
Other reviewers of these products have it right - they split right down the middle, inside the fabric. From that point forward, just takes some sharp teeth to tear them in half.
I am happy with them, will be picking up two more tomorrow! Compared to the other $15-$20 toys he has…these are the only ones which made the cut!!!!
