I have used only natural "clean" litters for the health of both my cats and our family. I liked that this was a by product (hence it wouldn't go to waste) and the price was right so I gave it a try. I have been pleasantly surprised. The odor control is very good and it seems to last much longer than other litters. I don't notice any noticeable dust when I'm changing the litter boxes. Also haven't gotten any pantry moths like I seem to have gotten from other corn based or wheat based litters. The only draw back is that it tracks out of the litter box, but I haven't find any good working litters than don't so we'll have to deal with that. All in all a great product.

Pro: Excellent odor control. I have 4 cats in my house, including an alpha male. This was one of the reasons I decided to try this litter. This product is very good at controlling odor.
Variable: Might sift better with a different scoop. If this is the case, maybe there'd be less dust. Too much shaking breaks down the litter, creating too much dust.
Cons: I clean the boxes every day at least once. I decided to try this litter for a couple of reasons, to cut down on dust and odor, to attempt to cut down tracking on the floor, and to be a little more environmentally friendly. Because of the 4 cats, there is constant traffic in and out of the boxes. In my opinion, it seems to stick to their fur, causing it to be tracked out of the box, alot. After a week, there was more dust than with the regular clumping litter. The issues with the sifting just made the problem worse. Another problem with the sifting is the litter won't flow of its own accord, not allowing you to catch the parts which were broken down by the foot traffic (or the dribble from my alpha male, who quite often stands to urinate). Because of this I have started to not even sift completely to make sure I pick up everything, which is a waste of money. Unfortunately, the issues with the dust, the sifting issue, and the apparent increased tracking will not allow me to keep using this product. My babies are 11-13 yrs going on 11-13 mths, and can be very active. This product might be okay for a 1 or 2 cat household with docile animals, but not for me.

My cat urinates a lot due to a thyroid problem. I tried several brands of silica gel litter but they were dusty & didn't absorb well. No matter the brand they all lasted 4-5 days then her box had to be dumped & washed. Smell got so bad she would would deficate outside her box to let me know she wanted it cleaned.
My cat had no problem transitioning to this walnut litter. I put it in her 2nd litter box & left her regular litter in her 1st box till it ran out. I chose the multi cat hoping for best absorbing & clumping. It clumps great so I just scoop her box once a day. It absorbs the urine odor, & it has no smell itself. It also has no dust! It does track a bit but I have a shaggy rug around her box to catch it.
Daisy & I both love this litter, she hasn't deficated outside her box since using it.

I really wanted to like this product; it's all natural, has a great walnut smell, not too bad on the clumping. But, not only does it track (and I've put down anti tracking mats) - the worst part is the brown dust gets EVERYWHERE!!!! Wherever you keep your letterbox- for me it's a small laundry room- you can be rest assured everything will be covered in brown dust in no time. It gets in the cats fur, it turns their bedding brown (luckily it washed out on a long wash cycle), it will even coat the outside of your litter genie.
What's baffling is that it doesn't appear dusty- not when poured, not when scooped, not when kicked around.
