This is a horrible leash for the amount paid. It looks nice and looks as if it would work great but it doesn't. The leash gets stuck on the inside and the button to stop from going further doesn't even work. My leash got stuck somewhere on the inside so I had to throw it out. I've only had for a little more than a month.

Wish I read the reviews before I had bought it in stores. The button almost never works, there is no grip or anything for the handle so if your dogs pull, your hand will be sore afterwards. Don't waste your money like I did.

I tried this and I can't get the button to work that is suppose to keep the leash from retracting. It's a poor design and I'm going to return it.

1. The button that "brakes" the leash is in a weird spot, set too far away from the hand grip. Therefore, you have to either strain your hand in a weird way, or hold the grip with two fingers. Strange, uncomfortable design.
2. The slide action of the button is also terrible. It basically requires 2-handed operation. This wasn't apparent when the leash was brand new, but after just a couple of days the button was stiff enough that I couldn't hold it down and push it forward with one hand.
3. Th leash tape itself has this weird stitching on either side. It's just aesthetic, as far as I can tell. After just one day the tape began folding over along those stitches. Dozens of times I tried to get the tape to lay flat, but it didn't work.
4. So if you let the leash fold as a result of the stitching, it eventually wears out and the worn spots get caught inside the body of the leash - so it stops retracting smoothly.
I had this leash for about a month before I had to throw it away. I honestly can't believe how terrible it is. Not only will I never buy a Martha Stewart leash, I'll never buy ANY product made by this brand, ever again.
