I bought this feeder when it was on clearance. I have it set to feed my cat twice a day. It dumps the food fine and twice a day but doesn't keep the times correctly. I have it set for 6am and 6pm and it never dumps on schedule. I've used fresh batteries, I've double checked the time. I still use it, it just loses time over time. I also have found if your cat plays with the dish, it will drop food behind the dish and become jammed. It's annoying and very messy to clean up. I keep a plastic tray under mine. I do like that I can adjust the times, amount it drops and frequency. I can even make an unscheduled drop spontaneously if I want. But if you don't press the button correctly, it drops out the entire container. Like I said, I still use it, it's handy but I'm sure for the money you spend you can find better.

Timer works great. However, after a week, one of my cats what figured out that sticking her paw into food chute spits out food anytime she wants. This defeats whole purpose of feeder.

This is a good product in theory, however ours was wired wrong allowing our cat to shove his paw up inside the machine and knock the next feeding out. Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Luckily my husband was able to correct the wiring. I was not expecting such a silly mistake from a not-exactly-cheap machine.

by opy01 Very unreliable!
I normally do not write bad reviews, but this feeder is the most unreliable feeder I've seen. I just bought this to replace the older version of this feeder that decided to just drop food continuously after 2 years of working ok. The instructions for the new feeder say 'Works best with .5”or smaller diameter food' but the prescription cat food I use seems to be too small. There is a gap between the door flap and where the next feeding is stored and when the door is moved some food from the next feeding will either fall through the gap or get stuck in the gap jamming to door.
My cat has figured out that if it moves the feeder or the door flap or just bangs it against the wall, some food will fall out. Before long most of the food for that evening or the next morning is gone. This morning I noticed the bowl was not secured in so I moved the feeder to see why and there was food pile up under the feeder. Over the weekend we counted 4 times in one morning where food randomly fell out.
I've added a photo that shows the gap above the door. This is completely unacceptable.
I will be returning this feeder and do NOT recommend it to anyone. This thing should be recalled and discontinued!
