Rated 5 out of 5 by nafseeknay SOO glad this works!!!
our dog is afraid of thunder & has been since lightning struck at the back of our property 2 years ago. We hardly have to put it on her now. I wish we would have tried this out on my dad's dog.

Our lab mix was scared to death of fireworks, thunder and basically super loud noises to the point that she would throw up and continue panting and shaking. The first shirt I bought was an X-Large which turned out to be to big for her. It did stop her from throwing up but not the excessive panting and shaking. I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a Large and also bought the calming spray. Now she comes for her Thundershirt at the first loud sound. The shirt along with the spray did the trick. I was told when I bought this that it didn't work for all dogs but it sure worked for our girl. Couldn't be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by luvdfins Thundershirt was great this 4th of July
I have an 8 year old Aussie that hates this time of year. I didn't think with her being older the Thundershirt would work but to my surprise, it did. Normally she paces all over the house for hours never able to settle down. When I put the Thundershirt on she started to do the same thing. In the past I've tried to offer her treats and just lay on the couch by me. She couldn't do it. This time I offered her the treats, she lied next to me and stayed there until the last firecracker was over. I was shocked!! The Thundershirt did exactly what I wanted it to do. Just make her relax and both of us get through the night.

Our dog Angel (Am.Eskimo/collie mix) has extreme anxiety with thunderstorms. She thinks she has to be up against me, and she salivates, pants, trembles, whines, and is generally miserable and horrified until the storm is over. We've tried drugs, but they just make her drunk but still afraid and she is hung over all the next day.
We bought her a Thundershirt several years ago now when they first came out, and it is like magic for her. She calms down, and can lie down and sleep. Hurray!
This may help some people decide whether to try it: When I told him about our success with the Thundershirt, our Vet suggested to me that it may work best for dogs that COME TO YOU to be comforted when they are afraid/anxious. If the dog is one who RUNS AND HIDES under the bed or in a closet during a storm, it might not be so effective for that dog. The Thundershirt is a vest that wraps the dog up tight like a hug or swaddling a baby, so if that kind of reassurance is what your dog seeks when afraid, it may really help.
Angel comes to me to have it put on when I get it out as soon as we hear the slightest thunder. She knows it helps her feel better.
