I have a 6 month old lab / pitbull mix. Beatiful little thing! Been feeding her purina one healthy puppy. The last two months have been really bad with it. Unknown to us the food is too soft and was getting moldy at the pet store. Even the 13 year old sheperd lab i have that will eat anything wouldnt touch it. Poor little pup kept getting sick, wasnt growing fast. 2 weeks ago we started switching her off her special diet of boiled chicken and rice. We started Iams Smart Puppy. Withing 2 days we noticed the difference in her livelyhood. She is back to normal running like crazy, barking at everything, jumping, and wrestling with the aheperd lab. Thanks Iams!!!! This pup got me out of a major depression. Iams brought my baby back to life! It brought me back to life! Will never use another brand again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tcactus Not a bad brand at all! #Perfect
I recently got a 4 weeks old puppy, turning 5 this week. He's a Alaskan Husky/Yellow Lab mixed very adorable breed. He's supposed to be with mama dog until 6 weeks, but I was so impatient and just so excited about getting him that the owner allowed me to take him home a day after 4 weeks he suggested me to feed him soft wet food until he turns 6 weeks. So I went to buy him the high quality brand name soft wet food he ate the food but had a little problem eating the whole thing, plus everytime he potty its always watery or mushy. So I wanted to do it my own way by start feeding him puppy dry food, so after 2 days of feeding him soft wet food I wasn't happy, I decided to go buy IAMS Puppy food (Large Breed) to feed him, at first I was worried that he can't eat dry food yet and was worried that his poo will be the same. But I still gave it a try, after a day of eating IAMS puppy food there was a different his poo was solid I mean solid. So that means this puppy food went through his body and digest real well. I'm surprised he ate it, he ate the whole bow. And now that I him for 4 days, everytime he hears me open the bag he wag his tail and run to me in a very exciting mood. For those, who complain about how bad this food is then I disagree with you. And in my belief, I think its not so much about the more it cost the better its about how your puppy/dog accept it and how his or her body works. Every puppy/dog is different. I can easily go buy Blue Rhino brand which is pricey but if it has the same effect then why not go with IAMS which cost half the price. I don't care how much money you have or make, its about keeping your pets healty & strong and shopping smart. If your pets is liking the food then you know the food isn't that bad. Last but not least, IAMS is giving me and my little boy a good vibe for a start! I'll stick with IAMS for good. :)

Our new puppy was found stranded out on the East Side of San Antonio. She was in generally good health but when we got her she needed some good food and her coat was dry and very dull. After just a week on this food, she began to shine. We tried another brand before this one and she did not like it that much. As soon as we began feeding her this, she just gobbled it up and she still does at each meal time. Her fur is just beautiful and she will grow into a gorgeous dog! She was already very smart but this food seems to make her more alert and full of energy. Her first vet appointment went very well and she got all A's! She is half Border Collie and half Black Lab and is just brilliant! We will keep her on Iams forever. Thank you for such a great product that is priced to meet my very tight budget!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LucyLover PICKY PUPPIES FAVORITE
I swear we have probably tried every brand or variety of dry dog food that there is. Ever since our Lil' Lucy was just a baby Boxer, she has always been a pretty picky eater, or at the least becomes easily bored with her food.
I am sure that part of the reason is due to her being so ill when we got her. From about the time she was 10 weeks old until she was 13-14 weeks, we had to feed her with a monojet (needle-less syringe) full of liquid puppy food & vitamins literally every hour. She had double pneumonia, and with how fast her lungs had filled with water, her Vet told me straight out that her odds of surviving this was unlikely. Now he did say it in nicer words, or try to, because there is no way to sugar coat something like that.
But between her strong will and our love, we fought her back to health. THANK GOD.... But it seems like the feeding battle has never really seemed to end. Even with mixing in things like chicken and other types of meats Lucy would still not eat. At least not consistently or thoroughly, which meant that we would end up wasting the majority of it. Not to mention how irregular her bowel movements where from the constant changes to her diet.
So our search continued, trying to find a food appealing to our growing puppy, but also one that our non-growing pocket could afford. The consideration of just wet food was something we where starting to think might be our only option. Though we had really hoped to eventually have her on a wholly dry food diet, for our sake and for hers.
So when we where able to buy Iams Proactive Smart Puppy Large Breed a second time, and then a third time, we knew we may actually have a fighting chance at the dry food idea. Now many more bags of it later, we are now successfully mixing in adult food. Which is Perfect, considering her 2nd Birthday is right around the corner, which will make our Boxer a puppy no more... Other than in our eyes and heart...
So we say Thank You to Iams, for our little girls health and helping keep our sanity in the matter...
Sincerely The Widowski Family, Rob, Crystal, Alyssa, Mia & Lucy Widowski
